Soil-covered cultivation of Morchella – Preparation of exogenous nutrient bags
2025年5月24日

Nutrient bags, also known as exogenous nutrient bags, are one of the key factors for the successful industrialization of artificial cultivation of morels. The main function of exogenous nutrient bags is to provide nutrients for morels and promote physiological maturity. Nutrient bags are equivalent to the production of mushroom bags for edible fungi. They can be used after bagging, sterilization, and cooling, and do not require inoculation.
- Formula 1: 65% wheat grain, 15% cottonseed hulls, 15% corn cobs, 3% soybean meal, 2% quicklime (adjust according to pH level).
- Formula 2: 75% wheat grain, 23% rice husks, 1% gypsum, 1% quicklime (commonly used in the southern regions).
After sterilization, the pH should be above 6.0. The wheat grain’s moisture content after sterilization should be full but not swollen or broken. Before sterilization, the wheat grains are soaked, and after soaking, the moisture content should be about 42%. After cooking, the moisture content should be 48%-50%, and the moisture content of the auxiliary materials should be around 64%. After sterilization, moisture levels can vary due to the differences in wheat content.
