What are the requirements for artificial cultivation sites of Hericium erinaceus?
(1) Material Storage Area
The material storage area is used for storing cultivation materials such as cottonseed hulls, wheat bran, wheat grains, lime, gypsum, as well as cultivation containers like spawn bottles and plastic bags. For Hericium erinaceus spawn production, the storage area should primarily be an indoor facility, constructed separately to prevent mite infestation. Proper ventilation and humidity control are essential to prevent material mold.
(2) Drying Yard
Used for sun-drying cultivation materials to achieve insecticide and sterilization effects. Requires an open, spacious, well-ventilated, and dry cement or hard ground surface.
(3) Mixing Area
Used for preparing culture media. Requires a spacious, well-lit area with cement flooring and convenient access to water and electricity. Should be equipped with faucets and washing sinks.
(4) Filling Area
Used for dispensing culture media. For small to medium-scale spawn production facilities, the filling area is typically combined with the mixing area.
(5) Sterilization Room
The sterilization room houses various sterilization equipment for media sterilization. Requires spacious area with good ventilation and convenient access to water and electricity.
(6) Cooling Room
Used for cooling sterilized media. Must be constructed to meet cleanroom standards – dry, clean, dust-proof, and with good heat dissipation. Requires regular cleaning and disinfection, and should be equipped with sliding doors and an airlock.
(7) Inoculation Room
General requirements are similar to the cooling room. For small-scale spawn production facilities, these two rooms are often combined.
(8) Cultivation Room
General requirements are similar to the inoculation room. Requires good ventilation, dryness, cleanliness, temperature maintenance, and moisture prevention. Must have temperature control equipment and spawn shelves.
