Standards for inducing bud formation of morels
The appearance of dense and neat buds of morels is a prerequisite for high and stable yields, which requires us to accurately determine whether the morels are physiologically mature.
The relevant indicators are as follows
(1) Early maturity: the mycelium on the surface fades, the aerial mycelium turns rusty, the nutrient bag decomposes and loses weight by about 50%, and the primordium appears. The above indicators are signs and characteristics before maturity, which vary from variety to variety, but do not mean full maturity.
(2) Late maturity: The primordium is densely produced everywhere on the surface, and everywhere (especially in places with strong light) the primordium begins to elongate from a spherical shape to a small needle-shaped mushroom. Generally, it takes 7 to 20 days for the primordium to start differentiating, depending on the temperature.
