Oyster mushroom single-head vs. double-head fruiting effect

2025年6月3日

1.Labor Cost
      Single-head fruiting requires less labor during the bag-filling and inoculation stages;
      Double-head fruiting needs about 1.5 times more labor due to two fruiting points per bag.

2.Mushroom Quality
      Single-head fruiting allows for better ventilation through the fruiting hole, resulting in better mushroom quality and appearance;
      Double-head fruiting tends to have denser bag arrangements, which may reduce airflow and affect mushroom quality.

3.Grow Room Turnover & Space Utilization
      Single-head bags are less stable when stacked too high—typically no more than 5 layers, and often just 4—so more grow rooms or space may be required to place the same number of bags;

      Double-head fruiting has a faster turnover rate and allows for higher stacking of bags, which improves space utilization in the grow room.
