With a planting density of 2,000 to 3,000 nutrient bags per mu, the number of nutrient bags per square meter is 5 to 6. The distance between the edges of the bags is generally about 30 cm. Before placing the nutrient bags in the soil, they need to be scored. The principle of scoring is to make the opening as large as possible without causing any material leakage, allowing enough space for the nutrients inside the bag to be delivered downward.
It is recommended to score two openings for bags weighing under 500 grams, and three openings for bags over 500 grams. The openings should be in a “1” shape, with a length close to the bag’s length. After scoring, the nutrient bags are turned upside down and placed naturally on the soil surface, without the need to press them down, to avoid soil compaction that could affect nutrient delivery. The nutrient bags should be placed in a staggered “品” shape, which helps to distribute the nutrients evenly and facilitate their transport.
